Schedule

13July Sunday

Check-in in Switzerland, ride in Annecy!

20km 30m 30m

We will be waiting for you at the arrivals area of Geneva Airport in Switzerland. From there, we will cross the border into France heading towards Annecy, a medieval city where we will spend the first two nights.

In the late afternoon, your bike will be assembled, and we will take a first ride along the lake's shores to ensure everything is in order with the equipment and to satisfy that urge to cycle through Europe, taking advantage of the fact that it only gets dark around 10:00 PM during the summer.

14July Monday

Annecy lake and Col de la Forclaz

50km 750m 750m

One of the mandatory training sessions every time we have been in Annecy is the loop around the lake, which is almost entirely flat and features an enviable 40km bike path skirting the water and passing through a tunnel of the defunct railway.

This time, we will enhance this loop with the climb of the Col de la Forclaz, a 1,000m ascent that was part of the Tour de France in 2023, offering a privileged view of the lake and serving as a launch point for paragliding flights. If you have the courage to fly, the view is amazing!

It was in Annecy that we started for two editions of the L'Étape du Tour, in 2013 and 2018, each finishing in different cities.

Fun fact: the loop around the lake was the exact route of the individual time trial valid for stage 18 of the 2009 Tour de France, won by the Spaniard Alberto Contador, with just a 3-second advantage over the Swiss Fabian Cancellara.

15July Tuesday

Cote d'Héry, Col de Saisies and Col du Pré

55km 2.300m 2.040m

We will reconnoiter the first part of the L'Étape du Tour 2025 route, climbing the first three mountains up to the top of Col du Pré, where we will descend to our hotel in Beaufort, completing 55km of cycling and 2,300m of accumulated ascent.

16July Wednesday

Cormet de Roselend and La Plagne

78km 2.800m 2.720m

Resuming the course reconnaissance from where we left off the previous day, we will pass by the fantastic views of Lake Roselend and undertake a 6km climb to Cormet de Roselend, from where we will enjoy a long 32km descent to the base of the last mountain of the race.

The climb to La Plagne will be 19km at a 7.2% gradient, posing a significant challenge as the final mountain of the route.

From there, we will head to our next hotel, a thermal spa where we will spend the following three nights.

17July Thursday

Col de la Loze (Courchevel and Meribel)

57km 1.960m 1.960m

In 2025, this will be the final mountain of stage 18 of the Tour de France, right after passing through the Madeleine, where we will be watching the race in person!

The Col de la Loze features a 32km climb with an accumulated ascent of 1,867m and an average gradient of 5.7%. It may seem gentle, but don't be fooled: this climb becomes more challenging with each kilometer, reaching a peak gradient of 17% just 5km from the summit! It has two routes that access the well-known ski resorts of Courchevel and Meribel. During this training, we will pass through both.

18July Friday

Col de la Madeleine and L'Étape village

50km 1.600m 1.600m

Those who join us on the Full package will climb the Madeleine from both sides. On this day, we will take the route starting in Notre-Dame de Briançon, next to our hotel, featuring an ascent of 1,618m over 25km with an average gradient of 6.2%.

After the training, you'll collect your race kit, explore the expo, see the latest releases from event sponsors, purchase souvenirs, and certainly watch stage 13 of the Tour de France on the big screen, an 11km uphill time trial between Loudenvielle and Peuraguides.

18July Friday

Check-in in Switzerland and L'Étape village

After our transfer from Geneva airport, you'll collect your race kit, explore the expo, see the latest releases from event sponsors, purchase souvenirs, and certainly watch stage 13 of the Tour de France on the big screen, an 11km uphill time trial between Loudenvielle and Peuraguides.

19July Saturday

Chambéry

In the heart of the French Alps, our cyclists will enjoy a well-deserved rest day on the eve of the race. We will visit Lac du Bourget, the largest natural lake in France, perfect for a boat ride. The panoramic views of the surrounding mountains are breathtaking.

We will end the day exploring the historic center, with its cobblestone streets, and then dine at a local restaurant, savoring authentic Savoyard cuisine, conserving energy for the upcoming competition.

20July Sunday

L'Étape du Tour

131km 4.500m 2.800m

The start for the 16,000 cyclists will occur in waves, every 7 minutes, extending over nearly two hours. Each group is defined based on their physical fitness and sporting experience, ensuring that everyone's race time is preserved according to their starting block.

It will be 131km and 4,500m of accumulated ascent, from Albertville to La Plagne, following the exact route of stage 19 of the 2025 Tour de France, certainly one of the most decisive days for the overall classification.

This is a fantastic race, not only for its accuracy in relation to the professionals' race but especially because of the perfect structure and the cheering crowds along the villages and roads. Thousands of spectators applaud and support all participants.

At the end of this achievement, our van will be waiting for you at the finish line to return to the hotel.

21July Monday

See what's waiting for you in the Full package:

21July Monday

Lacets du Montvernier

22km 360m 360m

The "Lacets de Montvernier" are an impressive sequence of over 20 hairpin bends on a short climb, stretching 4km with a 290m elevation gain and an average gradient of about 7%. The beauty of the place is indescribable, with the road zigzagging up the mountain, offering views of various terraces, a waterfall, and the Arc River valley below.

At the top, the chapel of la Balme serves as a landmark to reach the village of Montvernier. This ride is ideal for stretching your legs leisurely after completing the L'Étape du Tour.

We will have another opportunity to pass through here on the way to stage 18 of the Tour de France, at the Madeleine.

22July Tuesday

Glandon, Croix de Fer and Mollard

70km 2.140m 2.140m

Those who have raced the La Marmotte are familiar with the descent towards Saint-Etienne-de-Cuines. On this day, we will do the opposite: climb the Col du Glandon, followed by the Col de la Croix de Fer and the Col du Mollard, in a 70km loop back to where we started: our hotel in Saint Jean de Maurienne.

On a route very similar to what we did in the 2015 L'Étape, prepare yourself for breathtaking views. In that edition, we could see helicopters filming the race below us (!!!), in the canyon that stretches over the 20km climb of this HC, which reaches gradients of over 15% in its final kilometers.

23July Wednesday

Télégraphe and Galibier

75km 2.700m 2.700m

Think of two mythical climbs of the Tour de France! This duo is deeply embedded in the race's history, and we will have the opportunity to ride from our hotel to conquer this sequence often contested by professionals.

Starting in Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne, the Télégraphe offers 12km at a 7% gradient, with peaks reaching 10% in its initial section. After a short descent to Valloire, it's time to tackle the 18km of the most traditional face of the Galibier, with a 1,200m elevation gain and gradient peaks around 8%.

Those who traveled with us in 2024 had the chance to climb both sides of this mountain and enjoy the surreal view from its summit. It's not uncommon to still find snow, even in summer, as we experienced, given the altitude of 2,642m.

24July Thursday

Tour de France on the Col de la Madeleine!

70km 2.200m 2.200m

This is a day to experience the celebration, culture, and excitement of cycling fans. We will leave the hotel on our bikes and climb the Col de la Madeleine, a mountain traversed numerous times by the Tour de France, most recently in 2020.

Climbing at a leisurely pace, we'll witness various groups forming along the mountain until we find our perfect spot to wait for the professionals to pass during stage 18, one of the last mountain stages and thus a decisive day in the battle for the yellow jersey.

Additionally, we will pass once more through the Lacets du Montvernier and discover the Col du Chaussy, with its roads carved into the cliffs and views of the Arc valley.

25July Friday

Tour de France start

We will return to Albertville to closely observe the entire Tour de France setup and see our sports idols preparing to start stage 19, the same route we tackled the previous Sunday in L'Étape du Tour. It's the perfect opportunity to get up close and take photos of the biggest names in the peloton.

After the start, we'll transfer to Geneva Airport, where the journey concludes.
